Billie-Jo Porter is an Australian singer-songwriter whose music radiates warmth and authenticity. Raised in Quirindi, New South Wales, near the heart of Australia’s country music scene, she grew up to the sounds of legends like Willie Nelson, John Williamson, Carole King, and Shania Twain — artists who inspired her lifelong love of storytelling.
After years of travelling across North America, a pivotal moment at a Canadian yoga festival encouraged Billie-Jo to pursue music professionally. Returning home to Australia, she teamed up with acclaimed producer Shane Nicholson to create her debut self-titled album. Released in 2023, the 12-track record blends country, Americana, and indie-folk influences, offering a mix of uplifting and introspective songs.
Her single “Feels Like Us” reached #16 on Australia’s Countrytown Hot 50 and received strong airplay across the AMRAP regional charts. She’s also been a finalist in prestigious competitions including Toyota Star Maker and the Unsigned Only Music Competition.
Billie-Jo is currently recording her second album, which continues to honour her rural roots and international experiences. The project includes standout songs such as “Round and Round” (featured on Spotify’s Chilled Country, Fresh Finds Country, and Heaps Country playlists), “Howl at the Moon,” and “This Is Us Here” — a heartfelt collaboration with Golden Guitar-winner Andrew Swift.
Renowned for her engaging live shows, Billie-Jo has performed at major festivals including Tamworth Country Music Festival, Bello Winter Music Festival, Groundwater Country Music Festival, Revelstoke Street Fest (Canada) and the iconic Gympie Music Muster. With her warm voice and genuine storytelling, Billie-Jo Porter continues to inspire and uplift audiences, securing her place as one of the most promising voices in contemporary Australian country music.
