COMPETITION DETAILS

Each Butcher will be provided with a Half Saddle of Pork and a Half Lamb.

Competition time is 30 Minutes SHARP!!

Butchers ARE allowed to use the following items for display.

  • Garnishes
  • Seasonings, including herbs and spices
  • Sauces and marinades
  • Knives and saws
  • Additional presentation items
 
Butchers are required to break down a half saddle of pork and a half lamb in half an hour.
 

Butchers will be judged on four main criteria.

  • Speed
  • Technique
  • Creativity
  • Final Appearance
 

WORKSTATIONS

Each Butcher is allocated a stainless steel work bench (1200mm wide x 600mm deep) and storage tubs for prepared meat and waste.

Each competitor must supply their own presentation board for final judging. 

You may build any style of creative display for your final presentation board, provided it fits on the work bench provided.

Cost of Entry

Entry is $200 – Butchers will be provided with payment details upon successful registration.

Includes 4 x Weekend Passes to each Meatstock event you’re participating in.

International Butchers are FREE and will also receive 4 x Weekend Passes to Meatstock Sydney

PRIZES

1st place – $1,500 Cash and Prizes

2nd place – $500 Cash and Prizes

3rd place – $250 Cash and Prizes

Trophies will be awarded for 1st – 5th place

PENALTIES AND INFRACTIONS

Please note, you may receive a penalty for any of the following infractions: 

• Going over the allowed time
• Late to competition start times
• Uncleanliness of station

• Judges decision is final in the event of any dispute

The event organisers reserve the right, at their own sole discretion, to terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest at any time. 

A waiver must be signed by each contestant.
