While our brand has been in BBQ since 1970, it wasn’t until 2015/2016 that American style BBQ really took off in Australia. We jumped on the low and slow band wagon created by Jay Beaumont, Jess Pryles & Adam Roberts and their early Port Macquarie ABA comps, where we sponsored some of the OG teams that are still around today, Flamin’ Mongrels, Dr Cue, Big Bark Hunter, Rum and Que, WKC just to name a few. We now sponsor over 60 teams/influencers in Australia and New Zealand combined.
This took our focus and product range in a whole new direction, alongside our market leading Original Briquettes in the red bag, we introduced lump charcoal, coconut shell briquettes, charcoal briquettes, smoking woods, accessories and more recently our Aussie-made pellets.
The events created by Jay and his team, which began on a modest scale, have now become must-attend experiences loved by thousands each year. We take immense pride in having been part of the Meatstock festivals from the start and are even prouder to now be one of the major sponsors of the festival and the Heat Beads® BBQ Wars. For the past few years, the Heat Beads® Meat Wagon has made its way to every Australian Meatstock festival, where we engage and entertain the crowds with some of the unique (and occasionally controversial) dishes we prepare and share with the audience. Our incredible crew consists entirely of volunteers who are so passionate about working the wagon at Meatstock, that we’ve had to implement a roster system just to manage the overwhelming interest and prevent overstaffing!
