“Ben might just be the biggest BBQ nerd you’d ever meet. Growing up around a BBQ, he started in competitive BBQ in 2014 and represented Australia at the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in Houston, Texas in 2018. With a love of BBQ and technology, as well as a serious creative streak, Ben founded the Smoking Hot Confessions BBQ Podcast in 2017. He’s since travelled both Australia and the United States, sharing the stories and knowledge of competitive pitmasters, legendary BBQ joint owners, entrepreneurs, event promoters and more. His work has been recognised internationally, winning ‘BBQ Audio Series’ and ‘BBQ Website’ awards at the National BBQ and Grilling Association’s Annual Awards of Excellence in Kansas City, Kansas, as well as several other awards in writing, photography, videography, apparel and marketing materials.
