When Austin was 19 he toured with his Grammy Award-winning guitarist dad Tommy Allsup and the band Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys. Since his 2005 arrival onto the Red Dirt Music Scene, Texas native Austin has become a sound of his own accord, releasing his first record and going out on a national tour that same year.
Traveling up and down the nation’s highways Austin has more than met quota for his share of self-determination. He started to build his fan base one show at a time. With that attitude in mind, Austin has now had the opportunity to share the stage with artists from all over the musical spectrum, such as John Mellencamp, Joe Ely, Mike McClure, LeAnn Womack, Jason Aldean, Jason Boland, Stoney Larue, Blake Shelton, Cody Canada, Randy Rogers, and many more.
Austin was a finalist in Season 11 of the American singing reality show ‘The Voice’ on NBC. His coach Blake Shelton was impressed with his performance on The Rolling Stones, “Wild Horses“. He mesmerized the judges to such an extent that he easily get Blake to turn their chair. The song is now a staple at all his shows
Without any intentions on letting up, Austin is currently in the studio working on his next record, a follow up to 2016’s “This Weary Land”. Aside from playing over 150 shows a year across the United States, Austin has taken his music to England, China, Australia & New Zealand in 2017.
“Austin Allsup is one of the most naturally talented guys I’ve come across. He writes great songs and has the swagger to pull it off with out looking like a jerk. I would bet he shoots to the moon.”
Mike McClure
“The boy can flat out sing, from top to bottom he carries all note. He follows no trail, but blazes his own. “
