Adriano Andrade is the heart and soul of the BBQ Religion, a true evangelist of the grill culture born and raised in the vibrant country of Brazil. After moving to South Australia, Adriano’s childhood passion for barbecue, seasoned by the lively Brazilian approach of festivity and zest, found new ground to flourish. It was in Australia that Adriano’s culinary skills truly came to life, ignited by a three-year tenure as a chef that honed his knack for recipe development and a deep appreciation for the fusion of flavours and textures. Adriano entered the competitive barbecue scene by chance, which nicely brought together his skills in engineering and cooking, showing his ability to combine process with taste. Competing since 2016, particularly within the Steak Cookoff Association (SCA), his expertise in barbecue brings together the best of both worlds — his Brazilian roots and his experiences from continents afar, especially North America and his adopted home of Australia. A celebrated figure in the Meatstock festival scene, Adriano is instrumental in promoting the rich tradition of Brazilian BBQ, with his collaborative videos amassing over 1 million views and earning accolades in both Australia and the USA.
