Casey Barnes kicked off 2023 with a bang, picking up Golden Guitar Awards for Toyota Album of the Year and Top Selling Album of the Year for his latest album, Light It Up. The ten-song album also received the 2022 ARIA Award for Best Country Album. Debuting #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album chart and #3 on the All-Genre Australian Album chart, Light It Up features five smash hit singles including “Come Turn Me On”, “God Took His Time On You”, “Get To Know Ya”, “Light it Up” (all of which reached #1 on the CountryTown Hot50 chart) and “Kiss Me Like You Mean It”.
Produced by Melbourne based production team MSquared (Michael Delozrenzis and Michael Paynter), ‘Light It Up’ features ten new original songs, all co-written by Casey with MSquared and Nashville singer-songwriters Kaci Brown and Sam Gray. The album has spent over ten months in the Top 20 of the ARIA Australian Country Album chart, while Casey’s catalogue has amassed over 46 million combined streams.
Casey’s electrifying live show has made him one of the most popular touring acts in Australian country and the massive ‘Light It Up’ Tour has taken him across Australia and to the U.S, where he toured with the vocal group, Home Free. Also playing some of Australia’s biggest festivals such as Bluesfest, CMC Rocks, Groundwater and Gympie Muster.
Casey was a fixture on Australian TV in 2022, with ‘Light it Up’ being used for the AFL season launch TV commercials while ‘Get To Know Ya’ featured on the Farmer Wants A Wife launch campaign.
Casey won’t be slowing down in 2023, with new music to be released in February and a full schedule of Australian and U.S tour dates to follow. With the U.S being the #1 territory for his 42 million+ total world-wide streams, Casey will be returning to Nashville to continue writing more music.
